Is X.O.I HPP?
No. X.O.I is not an HPP product. Lycopene is the most important carotenoid in our beverages and is increased with heat. (Similarly, cooked tomatoes are better and have a lot more lycopene than raw tomatoes). We have done extensive lab tests to ensure each bottle has your daily suggested intake of Lycopene. The prebiotics in our drinks (vitamin A, E, zeaxanthine, and Omega 3, 6, 9) are also not affected by heat.
Do you use any refined sugar or substitute sugar (i.e. stevia and sugar alcohol)?
No. We do not use refined sugar, cane sugar, or any sugar alcohol as a substitute. We use a tiny amount of organic Vermont maple syrup to create a balance taste for our beverages. Maple Syrup has lower glycemic than sugar with the glycemic index around 54, compared to table sugar at around 65. Low glycemic is better for your body, as your blood glucose doesn’t spike as high and returns to normal levels sooner. Maple syrup also contains protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, zinc, and vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and B6.
What is the texture of X.O.I beverage? Does it taste like tomato or carrot juice?
No. Our beverages do not taste like tomato or carrot juice. Our beverages also do not have a thick smoothie texture. X.O.I is light, hydrating, and refreshing (imagine coconut water). The bright red color comes from the amount of lycopene and beta-carotene (vitamin A) in our beverages.
